As we near the end of Dry January, many of you might be counting down the days to that first glass of wine or that first G&T. Some of you may decide to make booze-free living a permanent feature and others of you may just want to drink less. Whatever the outcome of your month-long abstinence, it is nice to know that more brands are responding to the need for booze-free alternatives. And booze free, these days, doesn’t mean boring! Caleño, a new non-alcoholic spirit launched this month, and is set to bring fun to not drinking. Caleño’s Founder Ellie, hails from Colombia, and spent a year experimenting in her kitchen with different botanicals to create a fun, non-alcoholic drink inspired by her colourful and vibrant heritage. Caleño’s ‘Juniper & Inca Berry’ is a tropical infusion of juniper, citrus and spice botanicals, steam distilled in stainless steel drums. Its key ingredient and signature garnish is the South American Inca berry (also known as physalis); the sweet, yet tangy fruit with notes of pineapple, mango and citrus. Caleño’s is available to buy online and will be available in major supermarkets from March. Stay tuned for Caleño collaborations with other like-minded brands, such as Rude Health, Ugly Drinks and Hippeas!
