Product of The Week: Caleño

As we near the end of Dry January, many of you might be counting down the days to that first glass of wine or that first G&T. Some of you may decide to make booze-free living a permanent feature and others of you may just want to drink less. Whatever the outcome of your month-long abstinence, it is nice to know that more brands are responding to the need for booze-free alternatives. And booze free, these days, doesn’t mean boring! Caleño, a new non-alcoholic spirit launched this month, and is set to bring fun to not drinking. Caleño’s Founder Ellie, hails from Colombia, and spent a year experimenting in her kitchen with different botanicals to create a fun, non-alcoholic drink inspired by her colourful and vibrant heritage. Caleño’s ‘Juniper & Inca Berry’ is a tropical infusion of juniper, citrus and spice botanicals, steam distilled in stainless steel drums. Its key ingredient and signature garnish is the South American Inca berry (also known as physalis); the sweet, yet tangy fruit with notes of pineapple, mango and citrus. Caleño’s is available to buy online and will be available in major supermarkets from March.
