Chia Seed Pudding Recipe

Maybe it is the changing of seasons and we need an energy boost or has something to do with that endless list of errands we need to run and not having enough time to focus on our breakfasts... When life is this hectic, we turn to chia seeds for extra strength! Despite having an ancient history as a dietary staple, chia seeds have exploded in popularity in the past few years. Legend has it that the ancient Aztecs and Mayans used chia seeds as a source of energy. Chia seed pudding is an easy hack. Make a batch on Sunday and have it sit in your fridge for a couple of days for a quick weekday breakfast, healthy snack or desert. It’s fully loaded with fiber, protein, iron and calcium and is super filling!

  • 75gr chia seeds
  • 500ml almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
  • Fruit of your choice for topping (we like any kind of berries)



  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and give it a good stir for about 2 minutes.
  • Place in a storage jar with a lid and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Chia seeds start to absorb the liquid quickly but needs a bit more time to build that pudding like consistency.
  • When ready to serve, stir well and spoon into a bowl. Chia seeds don’t have a flavor so the pudding will taste like whatever liquid you are using. Cinnamon will add some sweetness but careful not to overdo it.
