Vegan Indian restaurant Dishoom Shoreditch gets it right. Consistently great food and risk-adverse vibe (no grime music, no challenging staff). The winning concept is imperial Bombay dining as seen through a Wes Anderson lens. It’s fun! Provenance is big here, and they are very veggie conscious. Lots of choice, all excellent examples of the national cuisine. House black daal, bowl of greens, mattar paneer are our personal favourites. Veggie dishes have their own menu section but can also be found in the main meals bit for meat-eaters to consider. Vegan options are highlighted along with gluten-free choices so no-one need feel like the ‘difficult customer’. This is what we mean by optionality!
