Following the success of Smoking Goat in Shoreditch, Ben Chapman opened Kiln in Soho with the same focus on charcoal fired rustic Northern Thailand cooking. The ingredients used in their Thai cuisine inspired dishes are locally sourced here in the UK and no electricity or gas is used in the cooking. Kiln is the offshoot of the established restaurant Smoking Goat and the concept is a little more street foody and casual. This popular Soho spot secured a top position in 2018 National Restaurant Awards for its fun and affordable concept. It has been hugely raved by many conventional critics as well. The most reviews for Kiln says that it is a vegetarian friendly restaurant and we like the sound of their sustainable ethos. However, the menu is quite limited in its offering and majority of dishes contain shellfish & pork.

We say don't rush. With limited vegetarian or vegan dishes on the menu and a very long queue to walk-in, Kiln doesn't really cut it for us. We still give them 2 stars for running an environmentally conscious operation.
