Where ‘V’ means vegan, this Soho institution is probably the best plant-forward restaurant in town. And the three sibling branches maintain the standard of food, service, and the informal ‘home away from home’ feeling that proprietors Diane Thomas and Jane Muir established back in 1988. The salad bar is a haven of gluten free, veggie or vegan options. Naturally, there are no meat intruders on the guest list. You might want to create your meal by sharing a selection of the world-influenced small plates. Large dishes are just as diverting; choose a healthy bowl, curry, burger or burrito. This is true vegan food thriving in the spotlight, a million miles from boring.
Why haven’t you been already?! Go for casual, delicious veggie/vegan fare that won’t break the bank. For a working lunch break, beware the no reservation rule means there’s always a hungry queue.
