Amongst the many sights and smells of Brixton Village you will find Okan, a cosy little Japanese eatery serving up some authentic Osaka-style foods. The star dish of this place is Okonomiyaki, a savoury filled pancake served with lots of toppings. There are several vegetarian options here, you can go for tofu, cheese, sweetcorn, mochi, cheese and tofu or noodle. If you’re not in the mood for a pancake, Okan also had a variety of noodles on offer. The service is speedy and it can get a little busy, but do take the time to sit and enjoy your meal, as the atmosphere of this spot is truly enjoyable.

If you’re looking to try an authentic Japanese dish, definitely pay Okan a visit. It’s the perfect lunch spot if you’re exploring Brixton and a great place to visit with a small group of Friends. The prices are affordable and there are plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. Vegans will find little choice here though, so perhaps try somewhere else.
