Ottolenghi Spitalfields

A restaurant / deli where plant-based takes centre stage, and meat is the supporting act. Ottolenghi has of course been our optionality hero since 2002, and 15 years on and four more locations, this star-turn for veg shouldn’t still be considered a novelty. But hey, we won’t preach to the converted. So to the food... the union of spices, colours and traditions are captivating, and the trademark aubergine is to die for. Choose one main dish with two or three sides for a taste of high-quality Jerusalem-side Mediterranean fare.

You'll find here all of the bustle and atmosphere you’d expect from this location in Spitalfields. Guests can either dine at tables or at the bar, where you can take in the cocktail-making action. No visit is complete without a stop by the pastry.

To go or Not to go

Best for lunch or dinner (desserts are definitely worth saving some space for!) Feel comforted and nourished with platters of vibrant, healthy goodness, and share the experience with meat-eating family or friends. Everyone can be reassured by the provenance of Ottolenghi’s sourcing and ethics. Reserve for evenings, and for a special occasion-vibe opt for their Soho restaurant, Nopi. It’s a plant-based original and you should definitely go!
