France is not traditionally a safe haven for anyone following a vegan diet, but Sardine breaks the rules.
Since opening in July 2016, their focus is on Southern French cooking over a custom-built charcoal fire. The restaurant is run by Alex Jackson, former Head Chef at Stevie Parle's Dock Kitchen and Rotorino restaurants. It is located within the same building as Parasol unit art gallery, and offers simple, homely, Southern French cooking.
Alex’s wife is vegan and he cooks exclusively vegetables at home, so you can find delicious, seasonal veggie options on the menu, 100% vegan but with a satisfying Southern French accent. Our favourite was Scottish Girolles, Grilled Polenta & Ratatouille.
