Social Eating House
Set in the heart of Soho with a low-lit casual setting, Social Eating House also comes with a Michelin star… Sound like a millenial's heaven, right? We were intrigued by what we heard and were eager to try the vegan sampler menu as the restaurant has been on Time Out’s Top 100 list for some time. Their wine selection was great and affordable, but unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of our expectation of a starred restaurant. Our menu featured plenty of things to like, like hearty mushrooms and pleasing root vegetables, but sadly, these lacked flavour and the balance required to pull off the dish as whole. We appreciated the seasonality of the menu and their obvious commitment to local sourcing. This is informal and fun food, but it is not quite the plant-based sensation that we’d hoped.

Good for a date or celebration. The setting and location is definitely for a Soho night out. You might be better off ordering from the a la carte menu rather than going for the full vegan sampler menu.
