This Clerkenwell cafe balances healthy with hearty and their menu is entirely gluten and refined sugar-free so if dad is watching his waistline he won’t have to compromise. The full vegetarian breakfast in Aprés Food Co is no second-rate version of a classic full English either. It’s packed with hash, poached eggs, thyme roasted field mushrooms, slow roasted tomatoes, avocado, wilted spinach, watercress and even comes with freshly baked bread and homemade ketchup and brown sauce. The decor is lovely too - light and bright with blue and white tiles and potted plants.
There are several locations across London of this eclectic restaurant. Dishoom offers up a really different brunch - think fried eggs on chilli cheese toast and egg naan rolls, all washed down with classic, milky chai. It’s fun, fiery and full of flavour. Dad will love it.
This Marylebone mainstay is a bit of a ‘two for the price of one’, because you get Tapa room downstairs which is fast, casual and buzzy, and The Providores upstairs, which is slightly more prim and proper. The weekend brunch menu is the same in both and offers an extensive selection ranging from tamarillo and kiwi smoothies to Turkish eggs. After almost 18 fabulous years on Marylebone High Street, Providores have made the decision to close on 31st July. So, this might be your last chance to go.
All day pancakes, both sweet and savoury made with Shipton Mill organic flour are topped with all sorts of delights here. There are classic, fluffy pancakes with lashings of blueberries and maple syrup, skillet pancakes topped with warm apple and banana praline marshmallows for those who want all-out decadence. Then there are the savoury options, such as healthy plates with spinach and other greens. Then to wash it all down in true celebration style, blinis and prosecco.
