Tutto Wines Spring Tasting

A ‘natural wine’ tasting is coming to East London next Sunday 29th April, so you can get tasting and talking about wine, all day long!   Clapton’s stunning Round Chapel will be taken over from 11am - 5pm for the annual Spring Tasting, where wine lovers will have a chance to taste from small producers and artisans around Europe - from tried and true regions of Burgundy, Beaujolais, Tuscany and Piemonte, to lesser known corners such as Jura, Etna and even Alpujarra. The event is hosted by two of London’s star importers, Tutto and Gergovie wines, whose portfolios are packed full of natural wines.

If you’re not yet familiar with natural wines - these are wines made gently, without chemical or technological intervention - so that means no chemical pesticides or fertilisers, zero additions, no reverse osmosis, and little or no sulphur. Organic or biodynamic by default, unfiltered and unfined, the effect is that you’re drinking a purer product with no nasties or chemicals, that’s kinder to the environment and gentler on your body - natural wine is even rumoured to give you less of a hangover! Big in Paris and New York, and growing rapidly in London, natural wines are becoming increasingly popular.

Flavour profiles range from clear and vibrant expressions of fruit, to wild and wonderful farmyard funk, and many are cloudy in appearance. Somewhat controversial, natural wines have been causing a stir over the last few years - while some are uncomfortable with their atypical style, others say this is the purest expression of wine as it speaks only of the grape and the land it came from…but why not make your own mind up? Grab a ticket and get tasting! Tickets are £15 and include entry, unlimited tasting and your keepsake tasting glass. You’ll also have a chance to meet the producers and hear their stories, plus there’ll be delicious food and coffee on offer from Brown's Of Brockley and 40 Maltby Street. There’s also a free after party hosted by Brilliant Corners at Total Refreshment Centre Dalston, where from 6pm till 2am you'll be able to enjoy wines from the growers at the fair, delicious Japanese food and music. We’ll see you there!
